As the new season approaches, several players still find themselves on the fringes of Mikel Arteta’s plans. We’ll likely see some departures in the coming weeks. Whether it is for regular playing time or simply moving on from a project that has evolved beyond them, these players could be on the move this season.

Eddie Nketiah: At 25, Nketiah is at a point in his career where he needs regular first-team football, something he’s unlikely to get at Arsenal. It’s becoming increasingly clear that he will move this season.

Reiss Nelson: Like Nketiah, Nelson is approaching 25. A promising youngster coming up the ranks but held back by injuries. His time at Arsenal hasn’t worked out, and it might be time for him to follow in the footsteps of Joe Willock and Emile Smith Rowe and seek a fresh start elsewhere.

Kieran Tierney: Tierney, now 27, finds himself at a crossroads. The project at Arsenal has moved past him, and he no longer fits into Arteta’s starting plans. After spending last season on loan, he might go out on loan again or make a permanent move.

Aaron Ramsdale: Ramsdale is a top-quality goalkeeper and he is too good to spend another season as Arsenal’s number two. Arsenal faces a decision: either let him leave on loan or sell him permanently.

Jakub Kiwior: I’m 50/50 on whether Kiwior should leave. If we let him go, we could be short on numbers at the back. However, this is where Miles Lewis-Skelly could step in. The youngster has been used as an inverted left-back throughout pre-season, indicating that Arteta might consider him as cover should injuries arise.

If these moves happen, Arsenal would need to act quickly to bring in a backup goalkeeper, a midfielder, and a forward. The transfer window could still be busy for the Gunners.
